Ashtanga Yoga – Primary Series Workshop

Ashtanga is an ancient system of yoga designed to cleanse the body both internally and externally through the asanas (poses). This workshop will begin with an introduction to the Eight Limbs of Yoga and you will have the opportunity to take notes as you learn about the philosophy of this practice. Winter will then guide you through the Primary Series as we become familiar with the sequence and proper alignment of each pose in the body. Throughout the practice, an introduction to Pranayama and Bandhas will be shared along with the opportunity to incorporate some of the practices of the Eight Limbs, into our experience of the postures, encouraging a deeper understanding of this ancient yogic system which we can apply to our life on and off the mat.
